I go to a prep high school but came from a very easy middle school I got a 2.9 gpa is that very bad first sem?

I went to a very easy art middle school but recently graduated and entered the 9 grade at a prep school nearby. The program is very rigorous and I got a 2.91 which is alot less than i am striving for. Am I doing very badly for first semester in high school?

Not at all. That’s just under a B average.

No, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
YOU HAVE LIKE A B, because 2.9 is basically 3.

Just don’t get any F’s cause that brings down your gpa badly!!!!!

it doesn’t matter if you went to an easy middle school, it matters of the grades you got… And NO you still have time to get it REALLY HIGH!!!! you got 4 years, so relax, and just don’t fail anymore classes.

It would also help if you got involved in programs and volunteer work and after school things because colleges, accept and like people like that! :) hope i helped.

No, you are getting adjusted to a newer harder school curriculum. A lot of people wouldn’t have done as well as you. You have till the end of your senior year to perfect your gpa so take your time and study maybe get involved in extra circular activities (They really do help you focus better because they give you an outlet so you aren’t stressed over school work all of the time). When I was in high school I would ask my teacher’s if there was any possible extra credit I could do if I needed to bring up my grade in a certain class. I also asked if I could possibly retake a test I did poorly on or I would stay after if there was something I didn’t quite get in class that day. I doesn’t hurt to ask your teachers for help if you want to bring up your gpa. But the good thing is you are not doing badly your first semester of high school and you have plenty of time to bring up your gpa :)
