How do I use a rom patch?

I have a chrono trigger game but I can’ sem to get it working. How do I use a patch? please include links

   So you have the rom installed? Make sure its the right one then find the icon for the rom and click and drag Chrono trigger and drop it on the rom icon and it should start working. If it dosnt then you either have corrupted or missing files for chrono trigger or its the wrong rom.
